In response to the Prime Minister’s announcement on - Monday 23rd March, our campuses are now closed.
In terms of requests for references, transcripts and certificates please read below
Reference requests and degree verifications:
Registry@ucb.ac.uk is able to provide full information for candidates who completed degree courses after September 2014. For students who completed before that date, and students who completed a Further Education course, there will be a confirmation of attendance only.
Letters, transcripts and UCB certificates:
While UCB remains closed, we will be unable to produce any letters on letterhead paper. We are also unable to produce any transcripts or certificates. If the authority or company which require this documentation or proof of award will accept information by email, we will endeavour to provide it for them. Please contact Registry@ucb.ac.uk
Replacement University of Birmingham certificates:
The University of Birmingham has now closed to staff and students. They are therefore not taking any orders for replacement certificates after Friday 20 March 2020 and they anticipate this lasting until 11 May, subject to review.
Further Education Students and Apprentices
On successful completion of their course, all students are issued a certificate. For FE or College students studying qualifications, such as NVQ’s, BTEC’s, VRQ’s and GCSE’s, this will issued by the relevant Awarding Body for your course (eg. CACHE, Pearson). This will be posted to your home address by the Academic Registry. If you have not received your certificate please contact Academic Registry via firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you need a replacement certificate, you should contact the relevant Awarding Body. Contact details for Awarding Bodies can be found below. If you are not sure who awarded your qualification, please contact email@example.com
On successful completion of each level of study undergraduate students will receive an Interim Academic Transcript detailing the modules studied and marks and credits achieved. After succesfully completing their course, all our University students are issued a certificate and an Academic Transcript detailing the marks and credits achieved for all years studied at UCB.
If you studied an Honours degree these documents will show your final classification (First, 2:1, 2:2, or Third). For postgraduate students these documents will show whether you were awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction. Foundation Degree, Certificate of Higher Education and Diploma of Higher Education awards have no overall classification.
All our Higher Education students receive one free hard copy of their certificate and Academic Transcript on award. For students awarded between June and September, this will be provided to the student at the next Graduation Ceremony. For students awarded from October to May this will be posted to the student’s permanent home address. Students who do not receive the free copy of their Academic Transcript or Certificate should contact the Academic Registry at the earliest opportunity via firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, students graduating from 2019 onwards now have access to digital documents through our new verification service Verify. Using this service all 2019 graduates can access, share or download a secure digital copy of their Academic Transcript. Graduates awarded by University College Birmingham will also be able access, share or download a secure digital copy of their Certificate. We are working with the University of Birmingham to ensure that students awarded by them will also be able to access a secure digital certificate soon.
It is planned to extend this service to graduates from previous academic years in the near future.
