More than 800 students can be accommodated in our halls of residence and to help you adjust, in your first year, you are guaranteed a place in The Maltings. We don't even take a deposit when you apply.

Living in our halls of residence puts the best of both worlds on your doorstep.

How do I apply for accommodation?

Your personalised link for accommodation will be sent to you once you have confirmed your conditional/unconditional study offer. Alternatively, you can apply online here. If you require a paper-based application form, please contact 0121 232 4131 or email


Can I view the accommodation?

You can view the halls of residence at our open days and applicant days. Alternatively, you can contact the accommodation manager at to arrange another time during office hours to view the halls.


When will I receive an offer of accommodation?

You will receive an offer of accommodation once you have confirmed your conditional/unconditional study offer. We will begin making offers of accommodation from 1 April 2020.


How do I receive my accommodation offer?

All contracts and offers are sent via the email address on your application form. If you require a paper-based offer, please contact, call on 0121 232 4131 or add 'PAPERBASED OFFER' on the specials requests of the application form.


Am I guaranteed accommodation?

All first year Home, EU and overseas students will be guaranteed an offer of accommodation providing an application for accommodation has been received and University College Birmingham is their first choice.
