Annabelle Marquis

Higher Education Ambassador
Health and Social Care BSc (Hons)

With an open mind I applied to be a student ambassador, I expected to dislike it as it was out of my comfort zone but I ended up liking it and in fact, loving it. It made me realise that I like meeting new people, talking to lots of people and helping people apply.

The pay is great, and the opportunities are unlimited. You get the option to do lots of jobs when you are free. If you don’t like doing campus tours or open days, then you can do something smaller, like being an exam invigilator. It helps everyone no matter what you like. It helped me get so much more confidence. Without being an ambassador, I never would’ve done some of the jobs I do today and met some of the wonderful people and students at University College Birmingham.
