Evonne McIntosh

Health and Social Care BSc (Hons)

Ready to lead the way in health promotion

Throughout her life, Evonne had always worked in supporting roles, with adults with learning disabilities through to pupils in schools.

Spurred on to study a health and social care degree to become a specialist in health promotion, University College Birmingham was recommended to her by a friend. Attending an open day, she knew she’d found the university for her.

“I received a very warm welcome, with a guided tour and all my enquiries and questions answered. I knew it was the right environment for my studies.”

Now in her final year, she is on placement mentoring health and social care college level students at the University.

“This has been insightful and rewarding at the same time,” she said.

“I am able to use transferable skills and apply my study methods to assist and support the students through their learning journey.

“The support I’ve had personally has been immeasurable. Lecturers are always on hand to help and clarify anything you may struggle to understand.”
