Love learning at UCB? Tell the world - and win a cash prize
Read time: approx 1 mins
UCAS wants you to inspire the next generation of students to enrol on your course – either by writing an essay or making a video.
Just say what you love about studying your subject at UCB. Look at what is interesting, what motivates you, what great opportunities exist, and what it was that sold you on studying the subject in the first place.
Judges will be looking for originality, insight, powerful expression and advocacy of higher education in the entries. Videos should last no longer than 30 seconds and essays must be 400-500 words in length.
Both the best essay and the best video will win £3,000. There will also be £1,000 for three runners up in each category. The winners also get a day’s work experience at The Times newspaper. The competition deadline is Monday, 30 June.
If any UCB degree students are interested in making a video, the University is happy to help. Please email s.galloway@ucb.ac.uk with the subject line “UCAS competition” no later than 20 June.
Filming will take place in the week commencing 23 June. Footage will be sent to the student for submission to UCAS before Monday, 30 June.
