Read time: approx 1 mins

Academics from UCB’s School of Hospitality, Tourism & Events Management joined Birmingham business professionals at a new Educators Conference.

Presentations, seminars and discussions centred on the issues of contemporary business topics and sustainability, with speakers from businesses such as Birmingham Airport and the International Convention Centre discussing future challenges within each sector.

The school’s academic team also held their own seminars exploring education philosophy, reviewing data collection methods; social media; engaging students in seminars; and examining concept approaches within dissertations for hospitality and tourism students.

Nic Pioli, Assistant Dean of the school, said: “The inaugural Educators Conference has assisted in updating the academic team on the practical challenges faced by business leaders within the sectors.

“The experiences explored will be used to support development of learning material, enhancing the employability focus within all programmes across the school.”
