The world starts here
As featured in the filming tour, alumni are working at Aston Villa FC, managing aircraft fleets, running tours worldwide, and delivering high-profile international events. Frankie, Jan, Sonal and Olivia didn’t always have it all figured out - they just took the next step with University College Birmingham.

A degree here won’t just sit on your CV - it leads to real jobs, real experience and real opportunities in the industries that excite you and you want to be part of.

Our graduates are shaping industries worldwide
Global industries, global opportunities, global alumni
From aviation and elite sport to global tourism, hospitality and international events, our alumni and students are building careers across truly global industries.
Students contribute to major industry events, including NEC Live, Set Jet 2025, and the World Travel Market. They collaborate on sustainable tourism projects in Greater Malvern, develop marketing briefs for British Airways, support sustainable aviation initiatives at Istanbul Airport, and play key roles in high-profile events such as the Commonwealth Games.
They also take part in international field trips to destinations such as Edinburgh, Paris, Istanbul, Montenegro and Albania, gaining first-hand experience of global destinations, hotel management, aviation operations and large-scale international events.
Students progress into management roles with luxury hotel groups, international tour operators, national airline carriers, and work on some of the biggest events in the world- showing that a degree from University College Birmingham opens doors across industries and borders.

We don’t just teach the industry - we’re part of it
Industry professionals teaching the next generation of professionals.
Your degree is shaped by people who work with industry every day.
You will learn through real case studies, guest speakers, industry visits and placements that give you insight beyond the classroom - so you graduate with specialist knowledge, industry skills, confidence and connections.
University College Birmingham staff are Fellows of professional bodies, sit on industry boards and deliver conferences for professional organisations.
Our aviation provision has been recognised nationally, placed second in the UK for Best Training Provider in the UK Aviation Awards 2025, and we are recognised as a centre of excellence for teaching in tourism and hospitality, as accredited by the Institute of Travel and Tourism.

Students who don’t just join the industry - they’re recognised by it
Our students and alumni have been shortlisted and awarded at major industry events, including Knight winning the TMI Award, Elham receiving an ITT Award, and Naomi being highly commended, alongside three alumni named runners-up at the Birmingham Hospitality Association Awards 2025.
At the Institute of Hospitality’s Student Paper Competition, Israr and Aneeta were commended for their research, and a group of students came third in the HOTS Hotel Management simulation competition - showing that while you study here, you are already being noticed by industry.
How does a free £5k to help fund your studies sound?
At University College Birmingham, we believe the cost of living shouldn’t hold you back. That's why we’re giving all UK full-time undergraduate students starting in February 2026 or September 2026 £5,000 each to support expenses like food, bills, and transport. It's completely free, with no need to pay it back.
