Leaving school is a big change for your child and you'll want to know they will be studying somewhere that will give them lots of personalised support.
Our support includes outstanding academic support, including getting them through their maths and English GCSEs, through to assisting with neurodiversity and disability, mental health and wellbeing and much more.
You can rest assured their will be supported by their tutors through to our student services teams, giving your child the best start in their studies.

Experience in the workplace
We take the future of our students seriously and have our own careers, employability and placement service to give them real-life experience of work.
Based in HIRED at Baskerville House, our employability tutors, who are experts in specific subject areas, offer one-to-one support, and can help college and sixth form students secure work experience, internships and volunteering roles.
We also have our own on-site recruitment agency, Unitemps, which helps students find part-time and seasonal work.

James Whiting MBE
Co-founder of The Skinny Food Co
James co-founded The Skinny Food Co in 2018. In less than five years, The Skinny Food Co went on to make the top 20 in the Sunday Times 100 rankings, as well as appearing twice in the annual FEBE Growth 100 list of the fastest-growing privately-owned businesses in the country.
That success has earned James plenty of industry recognition, including being named in Forbes Magazine’s 30 under 30 list in 2021, before receiving his MBE in the New Year Honour’s list in January 2026. James followed up his college course with a degree in international tourism business management at UCB.
Dan Lee
Within 11 years of leaving Birmingham College of Food, Dan Lee was lifting TV’s coveted MasterChef: The Professionals trophy.
And he credits the college with giving him the fundamental skills that took him from cooking at his auntie’s Chinese takeaway in Birmingham to some of the top fine dining restaurants around the world. “The tutors and lecturers here are incredible and the knowledge they have between them is insane. Absorb this place like a sponge."
Winning the title led to global exposure and opened doors Dan could only have dreamed of. Today, he is a private chef combining South-East Asian flavours with European cooking styles.
Anayiah Butt
Law, Psychology, Criminology A-levels
For prospective solicitor Anayiah, the excitement of a new college proved a great incentive to make the move from her old school to UCB. “I knew that being part of the first cohort to enter the sixth form would mean I would be constantly supported and encouraged to push the limits of my potential."
After A-levels, Anayiah hopes to complete either a solicitor apprenticeship or a degree in law and says her experiences at UCB have been the best platform for future success. “To anyone considering A-levels at UCB, I would say, just apply. It’s such a great environment, and you will make lifelong friends and memories while studying for your future."
