"With a background in wellbeing and mental health, what inspires me most is helping each individual realise their full potential, whether that's supporting a student to achieve a high grade, or helping someone with mental health difficulties to leave the house."

I’m passionate about empowering young people and advocating for those with learning disabilities, and my expertise centres around children and young people’s mental health, holistic student support, and advancing understanding in child development.

My journey began in an early childhood setting, tutoring A-Level Psychology, supporting young people by responding on the ‘Shout’ mental health helpline, and working as a mental health and wellbeing practitioner. I draw on these experiences to support students in the Hospitality and Tourism department, as I believe that a student’s wellbeing is as vital as their academic progress.

I strive to ensure that students feel truly seen, heard, and equipped for success both inside and outside the classroom. During my first year teaching at UCB, I was deeply honoured to be awarded the ‘Spotlight on Teaching’ award (professional services) - it was a testament to the power of collaboration and mentorship within the Hospitality and Tourism team, and proved just how valuable pastoral support can be.

I deliver psychology talks at UCB and am a member of the United Kingdom Association for Tutoring (UKAT), where I also assess advisor applications.

What inspires me most is helping each individual realise their full potential, whatever that looks like - sometimes this may mean supporting a student to achieve a high grade, and in other cases it can be helping someone with mental health difficulties to leave the house. I celebrate each and every personal and academic achievement. I also enjoy the diversity of students’ backgrounds and cultures at UCB, and take great pride in supporting them not only with life here at UCB, but also - in many cases - with life in the UK.

Outside of work, I really enjoy swimming and travelling.
