Profile

My career within the beauty and aesthetics industry started in 1985 and I have since had a varied and exciting career in all aspects of the industry. This includes working within beauty salons and health spas, as well as working for Estee Lauder and Clarins. In 1995 I started my teaching career in Further Education at Dudley College, moving on to Handsworth and Solihull College teaching Beauty, Spa and Holistic Therapies from Level 1 to Level 3. During this time I also ran my own beauty/spa business within a hotel in Solihull. In 2006 I joined University College Birmingham and studied for my DTLLS through Worcester University whilst teaching Further Education courses in beauty therapy and spa therapies. I then moved into Higher Education in 2013.

I have taught across broad spectrum of modules within the Beauty Therapy Management and Spa Management programmes, and most recently, in Aesthetics on the Aesthetic Practitioner Programme.

I attained a postgraduate Certificate in Cosmetics, Branding and Promotion in 2018, which has further enhanced my skills and experience to support students studying at University College Birmingham.
