Profile

I gained my Professional Practice Doctorate in Education (EdD) in 2019 and I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with a teaching career that spans 20 years. I took up the position of Senior Lecturer at University College Birmingham in July 2023. Experienced in course leadership, programme design and validation in the UK and overseas. I engage learners through the employment of innovative pedagogies and research led teaching, keeping my subject areas relevant and enjoyable through engagement in teaching, and research with industry partners and university colleagues.  

 

I employ a portfolio of industry experience to underpin teaching and related publications. I have held senior management positions in the private, public and charitable sectors. Highlights include managing Café Rouge Restaurants before moving into Brand Management with the company; Events consultant supporting and staging events for Birmingham City Councils’ International Women’s Festival; and managing the leisure provision for students at the Birmingham Royal Institute for the Blind.  

Teaching

My teaching is predominantly on the Masters’ programmes in the Business School, and module leading Starting and Managing a Business and Applied Masters Project which I deliver in the UK and Hong Kong.
