Two members of the Hired team, University College Birmingham’s dedicated impartial careers, employability and placements service, have won big at the annual Unitemps awards.
Violeta Savic won the Support Person of the Year award while Claire Betts received a 10 Years In Service award at a ceremony at the Radcliffe Conference Centre at University of Warwick.
“I've only been with Unitemps for about 14 months, so it means a lot to be appreciated this early on,” said Violeta. “We also had some really good feedback from the franchise management team and that was reassuring as well for all the work we put in this year.”
On winning her 10 Years In Service award, Claire said: “Celebrating 10 years of service this year I am able to reflect on the changes and the rewards I have seen and experienced over the years.
“We now help over 500 students find paid work and being able to help students be able to work whilst studying, in order for them to continue with their studies and support themselves financially, has been very rewarding as well as being able to increase students' skills in order to showcase more work-related skills on their CV.”
As the University’s on-campus recruitment agency, Unitemps helps students to find jobs on and off campus while they study.
The Unitemps’ annual conference and awards evening celebrates the successes of the service and the consultants that help students gain valuable work experience and increase their employability.
