UCB work experience recognised internationally

Read time: approx 1 mins

News of the great work experience available at UCB has travelled overseas, and international students are now requesting us personally!

Leonie Laukhardt, from Frankfurt in Germany, worked from 27 January to 7 February in the UCB restaurants. Amongst other tasks, she helped to serve a wide variety of food and drinks to both the Atrium and The Brasserie’s clientele.

Leonie approached her school in Germany, Schule am Ried, to ask them to contact UCB for a work experience opportunity. She wanted to come here because her elder sister did work experience in our restaurants last year. Her sister had such a great time and she wanted the same opportunity.

Leonie said, “I had a great time – I wish I could stay. Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome.”

At 15 years old and coming from Germany to England to work in a busy restaurant with no experience you would be forgiven for thinking that a trainee would be very shy. Not so for Leonie, as she settled in very quickly and was soon serving and interacting with customers. The other students took to her very quickly and were sad to see her leave at the end of her work experience.
