On Monday 27 February UCB signed a partnership agreement with the Kohinoor International Management Institute (KIMI) at the Kohinoor Continental Hotel, in Mumbai, India.

The agreement covers the progression of hospitality management students to UCB along with a range of measures whereby UCB will work with KIMI in developing their programme portfolio, specifically in the field of the culinary arts. Celebrity Chef, Ajay Chopra, a recent visitor to UCB, who spoke as guest of honour at the event, highlighted the growth of the industry in India and in particular the benefits to Indian students of seeking exposure to the industry overseas.

KIMI is a part of the Kohinoor Group, a conglomerate with interests in healthcare, energy, hotels and education. The Vice President of the Hotel Division, Mr Mukund Kamat, hailed the signing as a historic step in the development of hospitality education within the Group and for Indian hospitality education in general. Melvyn Pryer, the Director of UCB's International Student Centre told the assembled audience of industry professionals, KIMI staff and students, that UCB were delighted to be working with such an industry focused institution of repute in India.
