Top Midlands clubs among firms coming to sports employability extravaganza

Sports students will have the chance to meet with staff from top Midlands sports clubs as part of an employability extravaganza at University College Birmingham.

Industry experts from the likes of Aston Villa FC, West Bromwich Albion FC and Wasps RFC will be attending the 2019 Sports Conference and Fair at UCB's McIntyre House on Wednesday 3 April.

All students on sports courses at UCB are invited to attend the event, which will feature five guest talks as well as a careers fair featuring a host of employers from the industry.

Among the guest speakers attending is Adam Fellows, Lead Academy Physiotherapist at West Bromwich Albion FC, as well as Lewis Grinsell, Wasps RFC Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Rob Williams, Head of Coaching at Walsall FC.

They will be joined by Urban Training PT Director Alex Broadbent as well as Ellie Mason, Recruitment Advisor at Butlins.

The talks, which take place between 10am and 12pm, will cover a range of topics including personal training and nutrition, coaching, sports therapy and even lifeguarding.

Meanwhile, students will have the chance to meet and network with a range of employers including Aston Villa FC, the Royal Air Force, The Gym Group and many more.

Students will also be able to sign up for professional headshot photographs ideal for use on LinkedIn profiles. Slots will be available on a first come first served basis from 12.30-3pm.
