Events Management students had a licence to thrill when they raised more than £1,000 for charity at a special James Bond theme night.
The ambitious group, comprising second year foundation degree students, staged a glitzy evening of fun and entertainment, called Diamonds in December, at Fleet Street Kitchen in Birmingham city centre.
They had to stage the event with a zero budget in a 10-week timeframe and put together a superb night featuring a live fashion show, an auction and a drinks reception.
Ticket receipts and donations meant the students raised £1,078 for The Prince’s Trust. The charity’s private sector fundraising manager Sonia Kaur came to the University’s McIntyre House to collect a cheque presented by member of the team together with lecturer and year manager Leila Edwards.
Three members of the group – Janeika Ellin, Chloe-Louise Chapman and Rebeca Coleing – were on hand for the official presentation.
