University College Birmingham is launching the UCB Boxing Academy for 16 –18 year olds in September 2015.

Prospective students are invited to an open evening on Wednesday 26 November, 6pm - 8pm at The Maltings in Granville Street, Birmingham, B1 1SB.

As part of the Boxing Academy students will receive regular training with a GB accredited boxing coach, access to strength and conditioning support, and sport therapy/rehab in addition to gaining a qualification.

UCB’s Boxing Academy is the only one of its type in the West Midlands, offering students an excellent opportunity to pursue boxing whilst gaining a qualification.

Boxers will be enrolled on a Level 3 sports course to be part of the academy, but must commit to three training sessions a week, as well as their own club training. The Academy is open to male and female boxers.

Book your place

If you wish to attend the open evening please book your place using our online form here.

We ask that those joining us please bring practical clothing and trainers. Parents/guardians are also welcome to come along. UCB staff and the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE) will be on hand to answer queries.

If you have any questions regarding this event please contact Lisa Collins - l.collins@ucb.ac.uk

We look forward to seeing you there!
