Esa Rafi

Sport and Exercise Science Level 3

Warming up to be a top coach

Esa's career mission is to help people achieve their fitness goals, putting the legwork in place by studying a college course in sport and exercise science at University College Birmingham.

With a passion for sports coaching, Esa decided on the college for quite a few reasons. He said: "It has a good reputation for its sports science programme and the course is accredited by NCFE, which supports students in progressing to higher education.

"I also have access to the college's state-of-the-art facilities and sports equipment, while its central Birmingham location was also a big factor in my decision making."

Esa, a student from Erdington in Birmingham, couldn't be happier with his choice. "I love my course because of its practical nature, comprehensive curriculum and experienced instructors," he said. "It also includes placements in a work setting, which is important for my future career prospects."

When he completes his course, Esa plans to pursue a career in sports management or coaching. "I am excited about the prospects that lie ahead," he said.

"With the knowledge and skills I have acquired, I plan to explore opportunities in sports management or sports coaching at university, and am particularly interested in working with the wider community and helping them develop their potential fitness goals.

"In the future, I see myself as a successful and influential professional in the sports industry, leveraging my sports degree to make a positive impact and contribute to its growth and development. I look forward to the challenges and rewards that come with it."
