Take part in our online taster activities to explore how our Business and Computing college courses will help you succeed. You’ll find out what it’s like to study these subjects at college, as well as meeting some of the teaching team. If you’re joining us in September these activities will give you a head start and will help you prepare for your course. Business Level 2/3 and Business and Finance Level 3
From looking at case studies on Netflix and the growth of pop-up cinemas or learning about the 4 ‘P’s of the marketing mix to understanding personal and business finance, our Business and Finance taster activities are guaranteed to develop your knowledge and skills, as well as bridge any learning gaps you may have in preparation for starting your studies.

Computing and ICT Level 3
Java, HTML and Python – there is a world of computer languages and codes to be mastered. Our Computing and ICT taster activities will not only help you build the computer language skills needed to create the perfect source code for our programming challenge activity, but will prepare you for starting your studies, this September.

Competition Terms and Conditions
Please note the Business, Business and Finance and Computing and ICT online taster activities competition closes at midnight on 31 August 2020
1. These terms and conditions apply to the Business, Business and Finance and Computing and ICT online taster activities competition organised by University College Birmingham.
2. By entering the competition, entrants accept these terms and conditions together with any specific instructions and terms for such competition which may be mentioned in any electronic messages, or on the website, or communicated to entrants in any other way.
3. University College Birmingham may cancel or amend any competition, competition information, or these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be posted either within the competition information or these terms and conditions.
4. The competition is open to both University College Birmingham college applicants and college enquirers for the following courses: Business Level 2, Business Level 3, Business and Finance Level 3, Computing and ICT Level 3.
5. The competition entry window will open on 21 July 2020 and will close on 31 August 2020 at midnight. Any entries after the closing of the competition will be invalid and will not be entered into the competition.
6. To be entered into the prize draw, entrants must:
Computing and ICT Level 3 programming challenge:

- Email a copy of your source code along with your full name, the University College Birmingham college course you have applied for/ are interested in and your email address to e.bird@ucb.ac.uk (Ed Bird, Assistant Dean, the Business School), to be verified and evaluated.
Business Level 2/3 and Business and Finance Level 3

- Write a 500-word assignment to answer the question posed in Activity 1, create an infographic to answer the question posed in Activity 2, and create a PowerPoint presentation (maximum 10 slides) for Activity 3.
- Email copies of your work along with your full name, the University College Birmingham college course you have applied for/are interested in and your email address to s.chatterton@ucb.ac.uk (Simon Chatterton, Programme Manager, Business Level 3), to be assessed.
7. To be entered into the competition, your entry must be submitted no later than midnight on 31 August 2020.
8. If you are selected as a winner, we will contact you on the email address used to submit your entry to inform you of the prize(s) you have won and to provide details on how to claim your prize(s). Prizes will be distributed in September 2020.
9. By submitting an entry, you permit University College Birmingham to contact you on the email address supplied regarding your entry. If you are not an applicant to a college course at University College Birmingham, we will not use your email address for purposes other than contacting you should you be a competition winner.
10. University College Birmingham reserves the right to change prizes, decide which prize or prizes you receive and how many winners are selected. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered.
