These hair-raising pictures show the incredible creature, designed and crafted by a UCB student, which is set to feature in a new film.

Kira Gwillam-Keeton, a final year student on the University’s Specialist Hair and Media Make-up degree course, spent 12 weeks working on the project as part of her advanced prosthetics course.

The 20-year-old was asked to provide the model to feature in a horror film being produced by an award-winning group of young movie-makers studying a film production course.

Kira, who used the theme ‘fears and phobias’ for her inspiration, said she was delighted with the result and hoped it would take her a step closer to her dream of working on a major film.

She added: “The UCB course allows you to learn techniques used in industry and there are so many different products available for us to use. I’m sure it will open doors to a job in the industry.”

Kira, from Carlton in Nottingham, thanked fellow UCB students Robynn Gilder and Relly Wilson, and former UCB student Heather Simons, for their assistance.
