Head of Department for Sports

"As a former professional footballer, my transition into a new and exhilarating career in education has been nothing short of fulfilling. My journey began with the successful completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a focus on Physical Education. Since then, I have immersed myself in diverse educational environments, including Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Further Education.

The richness of my experiences in these varied settings has been truly remarkable. Working in SEN has provided me with unique insights into tailoring educational approaches to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. In the realm of Further Education, I have encountered a dynamic and ever-evolving landscape, constantly challenging me to adapt and innovate in my teaching methodologies.

Throughout this journey, the ability to share my passions and expertise has been a driving force. Whether it be instilling the values of teamwork and discipline inspired by my football background or fostering a love for physical activity through PE, the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others has been immensely rewarding.

As I continue to navigate the world of education, I remain committed to furthering my knowledge, refining my teaching techniques, and contributing to the holistic development of students. The intersection of my sports background and educational endeavours has not only defined my professional trajectory but has also allowed me to channel my enthusiasm into creating meaningful connections and lasting impacts in the lives of those I have the privilege to educate."
