Zoe wins big at the Apprenticeship Awards

Read time: approx 1 mins

UCB Apprenticeship student and trainee pastry chef Zoe Turnecliff has won the Hospitality Advanced Apprenticeship Award at the Apprentice Awards 2015.

In an award ceremony held at the House of Commons, Zoe beat several other apprentices from the hospitality, passenger transport, retail and travel industries to win this coveted award.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship with UCB and the Hyatt Regency Birmingham. I have learned so many new skills in Patisserie and increased my knowledge about how a professional kitchen works. I've been given so many opportunities and responsibilities to further my career, including working at The Skills Show, ordering the correct products and creating desserts and petit fours for Valentine’s Day. I am so proud of my Hospitality Advanced Apprentice Award and I am looking forward to the future.

Zoe Turnecliff

Zoe began her apprenticeship at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham in 2013 and works in the pastry kitchen. Her team is responsible for producing a wide selection of desserts, pastries, cakes and cookies for functions, afternoon teas and other dining experiences. Ability, hard work and passion are prerequisites for the job.

All of us at UCB are thrilled that Zoe has won this award. It is a huge testament to her hard work, dedication and study whilst working at the Hyatt Regency. There are many success stories in the UCB Apprenticeship programme, and I am pleased that Zoe has been recognised as the National Hospitality Apprentice of the Year.
