University College Birmingham is celebrating after being praised for innovation at the Hospital Assured Awards.

The annual awards highlight the achievements of Hospitality Assured clients for improvements to customer service and the performance of their businesses.

Professor Gary Wood, UCB Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), accepted the award for the Most Innovative Use Of The HA Standard at the annual awards ceremony at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel.

It was the University’s tenth assessment, indicating “a long tradition of providing world-class levels of excellence” to a diverse range of clients across a broad spectrum of age groups and cultures.

The judges said: “It is encouraging to report that despite the major change in education funding, the business and culture have further developed over the period since the last assessment, in line with UCB’s principles of quality, commitment to excellence and continual improvement.

“The assessor was pleased to note the energised, loyal and adaptable team spirit throughout the organisation and a considerable commitment to partnership working.”
