UCB compete in Toque d'Or Final

Read time: approx 1 mins

Following 8 months of preparation, training and hard work the UCB team (pictured with lecturers) have once again competed in the Nestle Toque d’Or final.

Nestle Toque d’Or offers a platform for students to exhibit their culinary skills throughout the United Kingdom and UCB has been competing in the competition since 1993.

64 teams throughout the country produced a business plan, 2 course luncheon for 4 guests and a themed coffee using Nestle products. UCB took their menu to the British Championships in January, coming in the top 8, which resulted in a nervous wait for the finalists to be announced.

The final was held over 3 days in London in early May and the winners will be announced on June 4th at a ceremony held at The Dorchester hotel. The winners will receive 3 weeks work experience with top chef Anton Mosimann.

I'm so proud of the students and their commitment to the competition, the additional time and hard work has paid off

I'm really proud of the students and the practice they put in, they're a credit to University College Birmingham and their families. They felt they did well in the final and were as good as they could have been, we're confident and looking forward to the results.
