The search is on for the UK's hottest talent
Read time: approx 1 mins
Have you got a brilliant idea for a food product or a catering business?
And do you fancy making your dream a reality – helped by TV chef Gizzi Erskine?
Gizzi, a pop-up chef and Sunday Times cook, is one of four star mentors on a new television show, Launching People. The programme is designed to unearth the UK’s hottest talent in the worlds of film, music, photography – and food.
The chosen candidates in each sector will work with Gizzi, actor Idris Elba, singer-songwriter Paloma Faith and photographer Rankin on a unique project. Their journey, from meeting the mentors to the launch of their project, will be documented in a television series to air later this year.
The show’s producers think a student at UCB could have what it takes to work alongside Gizzi. If you have a great idea and think you have what it takes to impress you can pitch the project via www.launchingpeople.co.uk between now and Thursday 6 March. Gizzi will then choose one person to work with one-on-one, helping to bring their ideas to life and launch their project.
Gizzi said: “I want to see someone that has a serious passion for the industry. I want to understand their passion and be able to see and feel it. I want to show that you don’t have to be conventional to be successful.
“I’m looking for someone who’s happy to break the rules – and maybe teach me a thing or two along the way.
“The simple ideas can be the best. But a simple idea with a bit of glitter on it is far more exciting.”
To enter, students simply need to submit a video showing their passion, personality and introduce their idea. For more details on entry requirements and about the programme, please go to: http://bit.ly/1mo20Qb
