Read time: approx 1 mins

Two UCB Beauty students were named Student of the Year by Dermalogica for their outstanding work and commitment in all areas of their studies.

Level 2 and Level 3 Beauty Therapy students Elouise Smallwood and Natasha Jones were awarded official certificates and skincare gift sets by Dermalogica representative Donna Maisy.

“As soon as Elouise joined my group I immediately noticed how quickly she was picking up beauty skills,” said Coral Brown-Taylor, Elouise’s tutor. “There are students that have the makings of becoming excellent beauty therapists, and she showed lots of promise.

“Elouise is motivated, has passion and drive and is determined to do all that is required to complete her work to a high standard. She is organised, understands the practicalities of ensuring the smooth operation of a salon and has excellent customer service skills, communicating effectively with clients to understand their requirements.

“She will be progressing onto Level 3 Beauty Therapy in September and I anticipate that she will do great things in the beauty industry in her future career.”

Kirsty Tudor, Natasha’s tutor, is immensely proud of her student’s achievements since beginning her studies at UCB. “Natasha is a mature student and a single parent to two children. Throughout the course she has been dedicated and committed and always gone the extra mile to achieve outstanding results.

“Her determination to not give up her dream of becoming a beauty therapist is inspiring. She puts all her efforts into studying and completing her work to a very high standard because she wants to do her best for herself and her children. She also receives lots of positive feedback from her clients on the quality of her treatments.

“Natasha has been accepted onto our FdA Spa Management degree and will start in September.”

Elouise and Natasha, along with other UCB Beauty students, were also invited to the Dermalogica training centre in York to practice their techniques in a professional environment.
