Read time: approx 1 mins

Baker Brandon Compton is the first student to win a £100 prize draw that rewards exceptional attendance across college courses at UCB.

Brandon, 18, of Birmingham, who is studying Level 2 Professional Bakery, took a break from making cakes to be presented with his cheque by College of Food Assistant Dean Dawn Gemmell.

The prize draw is part of a new scheme to encourage and reward outstanding attendance and Brandon met the criteria with a 100% record for his classes.

The £100 draw takes place each term and all further education students (excluding apprentices) who post a 100% attendance record are eligible. There will also be a jackpot £500 draw for all students with a 100% record for the entire academic year.

Certificates are provided each term to all eligible students and consolation rewards of vouchers for money off University services are given to unsuccessful prize draw entrants.
