100% employment success rate for trainee teachers

Read time: approx 1 mins

Teacher trainees on all routes into teaching at UCB have achieved their first teaching posts for September.

Trainees who completed their studies through the PGCE programmes, School Direct and the Assessment Only Route have all gained newly qualified teacher (NQT) posts for the new academic year.

Approximately 75% of the trainees are employed in Birmingham and surrounding authorities’ schools. One trainee has travelled much farther afield to teach, having gained employment in the International School in Madrid, Spain. This is another ‘first’, as she is the first trainee to teach abroad in their first year of teaching.

"All trainees have worked extremely diligently on their very demanding courses and deserve their hard-won success. Congratulations to all our trainees in achieving this 100% record for gaining employment on our teacher training courses."

Marjorie Jeavons, Assistant Dean of the School of Education and Community at UCB
