"The trip to the airport was fantastic. I got to meet people from various industries working on cool innovations, and they were literally my age. That fascinated me the most," Maryam enthused about her study visit.
"I met girls like me working at British Airways and had fun, insightful conversations about aircraft interior design, manufacturing processes, and the everyday challenges that make engineering both demanding and exciting."
Another standout experience for Maryam was visiting the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Institute of Technology (GBSIoT): "It was wonderful on its own," she said. "We saw how AI, machine learning, and automation are transforming modern manufacturing. Exploring the potential of Augmented Reality (AR) in training was a real eye-opener. We interacted with immersive visuals that made understanding machine operations so much clearer."
Maryam also valued the strong academic support throughout her studies: "Our instructors were amazing. Back home, you don’t have such kind and happy teachers. Morvarid, my lecturer, was especially supportive."
Evaluating her whole university experience, Maryam reflected: "My time at University College Birmingham will always be memorable. The University gave me amazing memories and supportive people who have helped me a lot in my career.
"Other students should choose to study here because no other university will support and guide you like they do."
