We are proud to announce that HIRED has successfully retained its Matrix Standard accreditation, reaffirming the high quality of Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) services it provides to our further education, higher education and sixth form college students.
HIRED is the University’s careers and employability team, providing support and tips around careers, and helping students to find placements and work experience. There are a range of services on offer including e-learning and careers resource platforms, and the opportunity to take part in skills workshops.
The Matrix Standard is the international quality benchmark for organisations that deliver IAG, either as their primary function or as part of a wider service. It assesses leadership, service delivery, continuous improvement, and resource management.
This recognition reflects the team’s commitment to delivering outstanding careers, placement, and apprenticeship support through strong partnerships with employers and a student-focused approach.
As part of the process the assessor interviewed 15 students and 15 members of staff, along with one apprentice and four employer partners. Roger Chapman, Head of the Matrix Service for The Growth Company, said:
“This is a fantastic achievement for Hired and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service, and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available."
Reflecting on the achievement, Dr Luciana Iwasa (Interim Careers Manager), said: “Leading the process has been a rewarding experience, and I’m proud to see our collective efforts recognised in such a meaningful way.
"This achievement is a testament to the incredible hard work, passion, and dedication of the HIRED team, who consistently go above and beyond to support our students.”
