Working to make a difference
Harina’s passion for social justice was a significant influence on her A-Level choices, so it was important to study somewhere she felt embodied those values.
“I chose these subjects because they reflect my interests around society and equality, challenge my opinions, and give me the knowledge to advocate for what believe,” she said.
“UCB stood out to me because it was a change, and I wanted to try something new. The sixth form promoted togetherness and confidence, which I found really inspiring and I think is massively helpful to the learning process.”
For Harina, feeling welcomed from early on in her studies led her to settle in much faster, and she enjoyed the variety between classes as well as the different options they leave open to her.
“After A-Levels, I am looking to either attend university to study criminology or do a paralegal apprenticeship,” she said.
“My advice for someone considering A-levels at UCB would be to go for it. It's a difficult journey but really rewarding, and it’s a time you'll cherish forever.”
