University College Birmingham has been ranked first out of 101 higher education institutions for postgraduate student support and resources in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES), the largest survey of its kind in higher education.
Students also rated the University 4th in overall student satisfaction as well as top 10 in every category out of all institutions.
These outstanding results reflect University College Birmingham’s commitment to providing exceptional support for all of its students, from the minute they enrol on a course to their graduation and beyond.
Students also praised staff support and the delivery of a superb student experience with 96% agreeing that staff were good at explaining things, 94% felt more confident about independent learning as a result of their course and 95% felt encouraged to ask questions or make contributions in taught sessions.
In addition, the University was ranked top 5 for overall skill development and assessment due to the institution’s dedication to providing a skills-focused curriculum that prepares learners for industry-ready careers.
The PTES is the only UK higher education sector-wide survey to gain insight from taught postgraduates about their teaching and learning experience. The results come following the University’s excellent outcomes from entirely student-based feedback metrics such as the National Student Survey where University College Birmingham was in the top 15 for all institutions in overall satisfaction, and winning Silver for University of the Year and the top award in the International category at the Whatuni Awards.
