Bsc Bakery Patisserie Technology

"I challenge the misconception that what we do is ‘easy’ - baking requires serious skill and patience."

My students know me as George and I teach Bakery at Levels 2 and 3. My specialist areas include chocolate work, sourdough bread and sugarcraft. My career includes working at several top hotels and in a Michelin-starred pastry kitchen.

Thanks to my professional experiences, I’m able to bring problem-solving skills, such as the ability to think on my feet and be resourceful, into the classroom. I’m most proud of crafting impressive, exciting bakes that people genuinely enjoy eating, andI challenge the misconception that what we do is “easy” - baking requires serious skill and patience.  

I encourage my students to take their time and let their skills build naturally. Once they’re confident, it’s so rewarding to see their personalities shine through in their bakes.

My students say that their favourite part of our classes are seeing - and eating - the final result once we’ve finished baking. 

In my spare time, I really enjoy gardening and fishing to help me relax, and my all-time favourite quote is: “Just keep swimming”.
