Graduating with real-world experience
We are a sector-leading university when it comes to helping students find high-quality work placement opportunities during their studies, and almost all of our courses include either an optional or mandatory placement. This might take place in the UK, or internationally, with opportunities available in Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia.
Through the brilliant employment tutors in our HIRED team, we have helped hundreds of students gain real-world experience and grow in confidence while putting their theoretical knowledge into practice, helping set them on the path to their chosen career after graduation.

“I was already part of the University’s basketball team and gained experience putting on events when I found the placement opportunity with the Birmingham Rockets,”
“This set me up brilliantly, as I’ve continued to work with them since graduation and also secured a role as a graduate sports therapist."

£6k to support your studies
Once you have your place as a new higher education student with us, you’ll be eligible for our Cost of Living Allowance.
This is £6,000 cash to help you with everything from food and bills to gym membership and transport - which doesn't have to be paid back.
You'll need to be a full-time UK undergraduate starting in September 2026 and paying your tuition fees with a student loan.
You will also receive up to £800 through our Kick-Start scheme, which helps with the cost of course materials and equipment for your studies.
For more information and other ways we can help, check out our Financial Support page. The cost of living shouldn't stop you reaching your goals.

Helping you stay ahead of the curve
Many first-year course timetables are already confirmed, helping you plan your work, commuting, family life or other commitments before the academic year begins.
