We still have some availability on our college courses – but hurry! Our courses fill up quickly, so be quick to avoid disappointment.

If you haven’t applied for a course previously and would like to study at University College Birmingham, please visit enrolment - check enrolment schedule below.


Please note, we are no longer accepting online applications. You must attend in person if you would like to start this September.

If you applied online before 20 August, please check your inbox for instructions on how to enrol. Can't see an email, please check your junk folder. Once you have enrolled, please check the welcome and induction information for your course.

Enrolment schedule

Our enrolment takes place at McIntyre House (2 Holland Street, Birmingham B3 1PW). Below you can find the dates and times for enrolment:

What do I need to bring with me?

If you are aged between 16 and 18, please bring the following:
  • Evidence of all of your current qualifications, including your GCSE results papers - or those showing your predicted grades. We can complete your enrolment without this information, but we will need to see proof of your achieved grades to confirm your level of study. Please ensure that you have checked that you meet your course's entry requirements.
  • Proof of identity - Passport or Full Birth Certificate
If you are aged 19 and over, please bring the following:
  • Evidence of all of your current qualifications, including your GCSE results papers - or those showing your predicted grades. We can complete your enrolment without this information, but we will need to see proof of your achieved grades to confirm your level of study.
  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of household income, including evidence of any benefits you claim, if applicable.
  • Your chosen method for paying your tuition fees – if applicable.

If you are paying your own fees, you can either pay in full at enrolment, or payment can be made in 4 equal instalments: instalments are due by the end of October, January, March and May. 

Please check our fees and tuition page to see a full list of categories of people who are not expected to pay their tuition fees. If you do not fall into one of the listed categories, you will need to pay the tuition fees for your course.

If you are aged 19 and over on the first day of your course and are expected to pay for your fees, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. This is a non-means-tested loan available from the UK Government to pay the tuition fees of full level 3 qualifications (course exclusions apply**). The loan is paid directly to UCB to cover the cost of your tuition and does not have to be repaid until your income is over a certain amount (the ‘threshold’ amount). **The following courses are not eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan: 

  • CACHE Level 3 Award Health & Social Care     
If you are aged between 16 and 18, please also bring the following:
  • Proof of residency, e.g. passport, visa, residence permit (proof of residency must be valid and in date).
