Study in the heart of Birmingham
Studying at University College Birmingham means being right at the heart of one of the UK's most dynamic, diverse and future-facing cities. All of our campuses and facilities are located in the centre of Birmingham, so you never need to worry about getting around.
As the UK’s second-largest city, Birmingham provides the energy and opportunities of a major urban area, while remaining friendly, welcoming and offering a much lower cost of living compared to London and other UK cities.

Career-focused courses
We specialise in hands-on practical courses, designed to provide students with the skills global employers are looking for.
International students on certain programmes are also eligible to complete a work placement as part of their course – the perfect opportunity to develop professional skills and gain real-world experience.

Outstanding facilities
We have invested £200 million in new campuses, equipment and resources to ensure students from around the world benefit from world-class facilities. These industry-standard environments will provide you with practical experience and a competitive edge, ensuring you’re fully prepared for your career by the time you complete your studies.

Guaranteed safe and secure accommodation
International students who meet all conditions and deadlines are guaranteed a place in our university-owned accommodation at The Maltings.
Moving overseas to study is a big step and finding the right place to live will play a huge part in your student experience. The Maltings is the ideal choice for international students looking for a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment in the centre of Birmingham.
Students can enjoy en-suite rooms with all bills and WiFi included.

Generous scholarships and affordable fees
We provide a range of international scholarships to encourage talented students to access programmes of study at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Students can apply for Merit Scholarships worth up to the full amount of the tuition fee. We also offer Early Action Scholarships, where students can qualify for discounts up to £4,500 just by meeting deposit deadlines.
Our tuition fees are affordable and represent excellent value, so you don’t need to worry about costs during your studies at UCB.

Outstanding support and diverse community
We are home to students from 70 countries worldwide and we pride ourselves on the supportive, welcoming and inclusive environment on offer to every single student.
We were voted the highest-ranking university in the West Midlands for student support at the 2024 Whatuni Student Choice Awards and you can rely on us to support you at every point during your student journey with us.
We also have an open door policy at UCB, meaning you can walk into any department and ask for help at any time - no appointment needed.
