The fascinating study of sociology provides a lens through which we can critically analyse the structures, institutions and interactions that shape our world. An understanding of sociology is beneficial for a wide range of careers, including policing, law, politics, teaching, social work, journalism and business.
Studying A-level Sociology at our sixth form centre, you will explore key sociological concepts, theories and methodologies, providing you with the necessary tools to engage with complex issues affecting society today. You will develop a strong understanding of the impact that social and economic structures have on the lives and experiences of individuals, and will examine the processes behind social change and progress and how social action can make a positive impact on the world.
This A-level course will not only change the way you view the world around you, but will provide you with the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, including research, communication and data analysis. On completion, you can go onto a sociology-related degree or an apprenticeship or go directly into industry.

What will this course prepare you for?
On completing A-level Sociology, you can pursue a degree in a whole host of fields, with many choosing sociology, social policy, criminology, psychology, nursing or law.
