Excellent resources and expert support
We want to help you achieve your very best at University College Birmingham. Our library services are available to provide you with the help, information and study space you need to succeed.
Within our library facilities, you can find extensive collections including everything from books and newspapers to electronic journals, e-books and a wide range of other digital resources. You'll also have access to computers and quiet areas for study, while our expert staff are on hand to offer support and advice in how to research for your assignments.

Our services include:
- Online library providing 24/7 access to over 150 million digital resources
- Expert support from senior library assistants and academic librarians
- Study areas with PCs, space for laptops and access to Wi-Fi through the Eduroam network
- Term-time opening until midnight from Monday to Friday as well as opening hours during weekends.

Study spaces
Within our library facilities, you'll find quiet areas where you can focus on your studies. Our library assistants are available to show you the book collections and help you find what you need.
We have study spaces across our campus buildings depending on your type and level of study, including our Baskerville House Library, Summer Row and Camden House. Find out more here.

Assignment assistance
If you need support with researching or referencing for your assignments, our Further Education and Sixth Form Librarian is here to help you. They provide sessions in classes and tutorials offering guidance on how to find information and building your research abilities, giving you valuable skills for your studies and beyond.
To get in touch with your librarian, you can either book an appointment by emailing library@ucb.ac.uk or by visiting Summer Row Library. You can also call the library team on 0121 232 4055.
If you require further help with your studies in general – such as how to understand assignment briefs, how to plan your work or how to write in academic style – you can get dedicated support from our staff at the Centre for Academic Skills and English (CASE).
