"One of my proudest achievements was leading the development of a trailblazer CAMHS service in Warwickshire, which improved crisis care for young people and set new standards for integrated service delivery."

You could say that nursing runs in my blood; I’m proud to carry forward a legacy as the third generation of nurses in my family, following in the footsteps of my mother and grandmother. As a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registered Children's Nurse, my expertise lies in children and young people's nursing, with a specialist focus on mental health within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). I bring senior clinical leadership experience to my teaching, with a focus on delivering and managing therapeutic interventions and Crisis Nursing Support for young people.

My career has been shaped by working in high-pressure, multidisciplinary environments where Safeguarding, Ethics, and Complex Care Pathways were always at the forefront. At UCB, I use these rich clinical experiences to provide my students with authentic, evidence-based learning that connects theory with the realities of Mental Health Nursing. One of my proudest achievements was leading the development of a trailblazer CAMHS service in Warwickshire, which improved crisis care for young people and set new standards for integrated service delivery.

In my classroom, I foster curiosity, encourage questions, and promote ongoing learning. My students tell me that they value my innovative teaching approach, as I combine theory with hands-on learning in a supportive environment. If I could give students one piece of advice, it would be to believe in themselves and recognise that they have earned their place here.

I was inspired to teach at UCB because of the wonderful network of supportive, like-minded colleagues here - and incidentally, the food is also excellent!

In my spare time, you’re most likely to find me underwater - I’m a passionate scuba diver with a keen interest in wreck diving. I’m also a regular listener of the Blindboy Boatclub Podcast. My favourite motto for life is: “Take care of your body; it's the only place you have to live" by Jim Rohn.
