"My students appreciate my use of techniques such as gamification in the classroom, and I find that they significantly improve student engagement and learning outcomes."

I currently teach on our BSc and MSc courses in Computer Science, and have a background in industry roles focused on technical support, system administration, and data analytics. My expertise and interests span programming and software development, digital pedagogy, artificial intelligence integration, curriculum design, quality assurance, inclusive and student-centred teaching, as well as data science and business intelligence.
I aim to make learning relevant for my students by ensuring that they not only gain academic knowledge but also practical skills and confidence - both vital for succeeding in the workplace. I’m also actively involved in organisations such as STEM Learning and the British Computer Society, and I regularly collaborate with industry experts to support students’ overall development.
I’m proud to have designed and led innovative teaching modules, employing techniques such as gamification to significantly improve student engagement and learning outcomes, and students often tell me that they appreciate the ways in which I make complex topics more accessible. In turn, I find it deeply rewarding to watch them become more confident in mastering tricky computing concepts and to see their progress over time. I’m also passionate about dispelling the myth that computing is solely about coding; in reality, it’s a diverse discipline that requires creativity, critical thinking, and an understanding of technology’s impact on society.
I encourage my students to seize every opportunity with both hands, ask questions, stay curious, and embrace mistakes as a crucial part of learning and growth. Being at a university is so much more than passing exams.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new technologies, travelling, spending time with family, and cooking Indian dishes. I draw inspiration from the saying by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam: “Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep.”
