Colin Hanson-New

I have over 41 years’ experience in manufacturing and supply chain having been employed in global companies such as GKN, Alstom, AREVA, Schneider Electric, Massey Ferguson and the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS). I have striven to constantly develop my skills and knowledge around the development and implementation of improvement projects designed to enhance the profitability of companies.

Follow a redundancy, I join the University of Derby in 2014 as a Lecturer delivering modules on the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) professional qualification as well as several modules at UG and PG level. I joined University College Birmingham in August 2023 as Senior Lecturer in the Business School.

On a professional basis, I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) and hold the level of MCIPS Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional. I am also a CIPS Examination Assessor and CIPS Principal Marker.
