"If I could give students one piece of advice, it would be to plan ahead, and aim to finish assignments a couple of weeks before the deadline."

Throughout my extensive career as a beauty and holistic therapist, I’ve had the privilege of treating clients and teaching students from ages 8 to 82. I was also a business owner for over a decade and have taught (at varying levels) everything from health & wellbeing, beauty therapy, anatomy and physiology, to non-medical aesthetic treatments, theories of reflexology, Reiki and crystal techniques.
At UCB, I teach various modules as part of the Aesthetics degree. My extensive industry experience means I can share not just textbook knowledge, but real-life stories and practical insights.

I’m passionate about showing students that aesthetics is about so much more than products or individual treatments. Applying a holistic approach can make a huge difference. I’m constantly inspired by the developments in cosmetic ingredients and how they interact at a cellular level, and I encourage my students to stay curious and open-minded about new discoveries. My classes are often described as thought-provoking and packed with interesting information, and I love seeing students’ enthusiasm as they explore new ideas and challenge their own thinking.
My proudest moments include supporting students to achieve gold at the UK and World Skills competitions, and watching the impressive careers they forge, from joining international companies to founding their own businesses.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me in the garden, not only growing my own vegetables but also learning everything I can about different plant species. On a more adventurous note, I once had the incredible experience of diving with great white sharks.
