BSEEN Entrepreneurs Monthly Meet-up – May 2021

About this event

Join us for the regular Monthly Entrepreneurs Meet-up where we invite current BSEEN businesses, alumni, mentors and more to get together and talk about all things entrepreneurship.

This month we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a fireside chat with our special guest Lindsay Powell.

About Lindsay Powell

Lindsay Powell is a CMO helping entrepreneurs, an investor in compelling ideas, a biographer of great leaders, a teacher and mentor, and a graduate of the University of Aston.

The MAS sandwich course at Aston took him to 3M as a placement student in a busy marketing department. Lindsay returned to the company after graduation. At 3M he held a variety of sales and marketing positions in the UK and Europe before relocating to the USA. There he managed product portfolios serving customers in the global electronics industry. His roles included new business development, channel marketing, strategic planning and marketing communications.

With a friend he co-founded a company offering training to writers looking to create ebooks. Though it failed, he was bitten by the bug of entrepreneurship. As CMO of Tech Ranch, he repositioned the award-winning accelerator for success and runs classes on its Venture Outfitter platform. He advises and mentors company founders and CEOs through StartOut and is an angel investor with investments in several exciting tech startups through Lindsay Powell and Associates LLC.

‘Welsh by birth, but American by choice’, Lindsay has lived in Austin, Texas for over two decades but maintains close ties with the UK. Lindsay is a Chartered Marketer and member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing based in Cookham, UK.

Outside his ‘day job’, Lindsay is a Roman history expert. He is the news editor of two history magazines, a podcaster and the author of seven acclaimed books. He has taught at The University of Texas at Austin and his appearances include BBC Radio 4, Dan Snow’s HistoryHit and History channel.
