For more than 70 years, Birmingham College of Food has helped shape the next generation of chefs, bakers, food innovators and culinary leaders.

Whether you aspire to become an executive chef, have your own food business, create innovative products or work in world-class hospitality environments, our industry-led degrees will help you develop the skills, confidence and experience to succeed.

You'll learn in industry-standard kitchens, specialist bakery facilities and our Food Science and Innovation Suite, while gaining practical experience through placements, competitions, industry projects and live commercial environments.

Eligible UK full-time undergraduate students can also receive up to £6,000 financial support while they study.

At University College Birmingham, we believe the cost of living shouldn’t hold you back from achieving your goals. That’s why we’re providing UK full-time undergraduate students starting in September 2026 with £6,000 each to support expenses like food, bills, and transport - completely free, with no need to pay it back.

We are one of the UK's largest placement providers and our food courses feature either mandatory or optional 48-week placements to build your experience. Most are paid too, helping you balance a degree with the cost of living. You can also get experience through competitions, live projects and our award-winning training restaurant.

£6,000 to help fund your studies

That's why eligible UK full-time undergraduate students starting in September 2026 will receive £6,000 to help cover living costs and you don't have to pay it back.
