Gaining the experience that counts
Budding entrepreneur Santiago has plans to develop his own business after graduation, and he’s certain UCB is the right place for him to make that dream a reality.
“UCB stood out to me because of its strong industry links and wide variety of modules,” he said.
“It’s helped me develop my skills and knowledge through entrepreneurial, creative and independent thinking,”
While studying, he has taken advantage of every opportunity available to him – both academic and otherwise.
“I’ve worked as a course representative and relished the chance to raise the student voice in official meetings, and I’ve also been an active member of the football society.”
In order to gain more practical, real-world experience, Santiago intends to undertake a placement, and he’s already secured the perfect role for the next academic year.
“I’ll be taking part in the Disney Academic International Program and I’m so excited. The HIRED team were vital in helping me find this opportunity and I couldn’t wait to apply,” he said.
“It’ll be a great chance to gain industry exposure, improve my confidence and skills, and strengthen my CV.”
Santiago is considering studying for a master’s after graduation before taking the leap into the world of business, but right now he’s enjoying life at UCB.
“My experience here has been great; the University environment, the support from lecturers, and the societies offered. I couldn’t have asked for more.”
