Open doors to potential new career opportunities
Have you previously studied at higher education level, but don't yet have a full undergraduate degree? By studying for a further year at University College Birmingham, you can 'top up' your course and achieve a full bachelor's degree.
Many of our two-year FdA and FdSc foundation degree courses offer a 'top-up' option to take you from a Level 5 to a Level 6 qualification. Using credits from your previous studies, this means you only need to study the final year of your foundation course to receive a full BA/BSc (Hons) degree in that subject, enhancing your career prospects and also opening the doors to postgraduate study.
You can top up from other Level 5 qualifications too i.e. a Higher National Diploma (HND), NVQ Level 5 or a European equivalent course.
If you are studying a Higher National Certificate (HNC), you can top up from a Level 4 to a Level 5 qualification on some of our HNC courses through our Advanced Entry top-up.
Simply check the entry requirements under your desired top-up to confirm if your previous studies are suitable to progress with us – and if you're not sure, you can always contact us before you apply.
