Engineering and construction facilities

Fantastic facilities to lay the foundations for your future

University College Birmingham is developing an array of state-of-the-art facilities for students joining our brand new construction and engineering courses from September 2022 onwards.

At the heart of our plans is the transformation of the historic James Cond print works, which will become the home of our new Centre for Sustainable Construction. This will be accompanied by new facilities next door at our Camden House building.

From production line technology to renewable energy simulators, a range of rigs and specialist software, you will have access to the latest equipment to help you develop the practical skills and experience you need for these industries.

James Cond

Camden House

This is a fantastic investment by University College Birmingham that I cannot wait to see come to life. Not only will it help regenerate and breathe new life into the former iconic James Cond print works, but it will also critically help train people in the skills that employers need, helping residents find good quality, long-term work.
