Post-Brexit funding pledge secured for EU students
The British Government has officially announced that EU students applying for a place at university in the academic year 2019-2020 will both continue to pay the same tuition fees as UK students, and also continue to be eligible for the existing student loans and grants for the duration of their course.
This funding and support will continue throughout students’ courses even if the UK exits the European Union during that time.
Professor Ray Linforth, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of UCB, welcomed the Government’s decision:
“EU students make a vital contribution to the University, and we are delighted this will continue,” he said. “This important announcement provides students with the necessary assurance that they will continue to receive student loans and grants for the duration of their course.”
UCB will support all EU students, who successfully apply for entry in January or September 2019, to enrol onto a full BA/BSc degree, to further guarantee they are granted a full three years’ funding.
