Employers' Scholarships - A support package worth over £50,000

Make university possible without financial pressures holding you back. Our Employers’ Scholarships cover your full tuition fees and accommodation, with additional financial support to help with living costs.

You’ll also have opportunities to gain industry mentoring, work experience and valuable employer connections to help you move towards your future career.

  • Sporting Excellence Scholarship - We offer up to six Sporting Excellence Scholarships each year, providing a financial support package to help cover the costs of competitions, training and equipment, alongside a tailored programme that may include sports nutrition advice, psychology support, strength and conditioning, access to sports therapy and injury clinics, and free gym membership.

  • Early Payment Discount - Self-funding your degree? Pay your tuition fees in full before the stated deadline and you’ll receive a £500 discount.

Free soup, toast and fruit

Need a little pick-me-up? Pop into our Summer Row Café for free fruit and toast in the morning, or soup and bread in the afternoon.

Digital award

Eligible students can receive a £280 Digital Award towards a laptop or tablet. We also offer free laptop loans if you don’t have a suitable device for studying off campus, alongside PCs across campus.

Flexible gym memberships

Stay active without breaking the bank with flexible gym memberships at UCB, starting from just £40 for three months, with access to great equipment and fitness classes included in your membership.

Great services at student-friendly prices

From affordable beauty treatments at our Treatment Rooms to delicious meals at our on-site training restaurant and expert care at our sports therapy clinic, UCB offers a range of services open to the public, delivered by our talented students at great prices.

Funding for nursing, physiotherapy and paramedic degrees

Studying nursing, physiotherapy or paramedic science? You could receive an extra £6,000 a year in non-repayable NHS funding, plus up to £3,000 towards childcare costs, if eligible.

Undergraduate to postgraduate waiver

Thinking about your future beyond your undergraduate degree? If you choose to continue your studies at UCB, you could receive a 20% discount on your postgraduate tuition fees, rising to 25% if you achieve a first class honours degree.

Competitive accommodation

Save with student accommodation. Unlike private accommodation, at The Maltings you won’t pay for your room during the holidays, saving you around £2,000.

Access Fund – Diagnostic and DSA Support

Get financial help with dyslexia diagnostic assessments, eye tests and DSA equipment contribution fees, depending on your eligibility and household income. Find out more.

University Support Fund

The University Support Fund provides eligible UK students experiencing unexpected financial difficulties with help towards essential living costs, course expenses and emergencies. It cannot be used to pay tuition fees.

Support for Care Leavers

Eligible Care Leavers joining UCB can access additional support, including help with accommodation deposits, a UniKitOut starter pack, budgeting advice, Student Finance guidance, priority access to the HE Access Fund and summer accommodation. Find out more.

Childcare Support

Full-time higher education students can apply to Student Finance England for help with childcare costs, subject to eligibility. Find childcare providers and guidance through Birmingham City Council.
