Tamim Ahmedi
High-octane hopes
Budding engineer Tamim’s dream is to live life in the fast lane, and after visiting a sixth form open day at UCB he was convinced study here would leave him in pole position.
“I decided to switch schools and join the sixth form at UCB due to the exceptional, modern learning facilities, and a greater sense of freedom, where you’re treated more like an adult,” he said.
“It was a great decision. Everyone here is so welcoming and it's such a friendly and supportive environment to be a part of. My teachers have been nothing but supportive and I owe whatever I get in my A-Levels to them.”
Tamim plans to study mechanical engineering at university, and knows good A-Level results will propel him towards his goals.
“I hope to secure an industrial yearlong placement with an F1 team to help propel me into my dream career as a race engineer in Formula 1,” he said.
To prospective students, he had one piece of advice:
“Lock In! Make sure you stay on top of your work, because having a strong base of understanding will help you succeed and get the grades you want,” he said.
“The teachers at UCB are brilliantly placed to help you make that happen.”
